Shellye Tow worked as a commercial photographer in addition to her fine art practice. Her experience includes working as a photographer for national brands like Chewy.com and working in a commercial food photography studio. At Chewy.com she worked as a lifestyle and e-commerce photographer. She also photographed shelter pets at Chewy.com as a community service to help local pets find homes.

Additionally, her work includes the digitalization of textiles and clothes for the Texas Fashion Collection. Items range from garments centuries old to modern fashion including designers like Dior, de la Renta, and Chanel.
